What’s New at 32

by Alex Kim

We’ve been busy at 32 Soft over the last few months, helping our clients with new solutions to their pesky challenges. Here are some ways we are helping them — and you — become more productive. If any of these solutions make you say, “Hmmm. We could use that,” contact us. We’ll be glad to help.

NEW! SO Allocation Data Loader
With the SO Allocation Data Loader, you can download existing sales order allocation details from QAD so you can, all at once and at a glance, see what has already been partially or fully allocated. No more wading through all those QAD records!

The screenshot from the Data Loader below shows that three lots have been allocated for one SO line for a total of 6 units. So, the backorder quantity left to allocate is 14 out of 20.

You can then allocate new quantities in the Data Loader (the green columns) but cannot reallocate (change the quantity) or deallocate (change the allocated quantity to 0) existing allocations.

As with all of our Data Loaders, any changes you make can be quickly and safely loaded to QAD with the click of a button. You can find out more about how Data Loaders work here.

New! Supplier Invoice Data Loader

With the Supplier Invoice Data Loader, you can download existing details from QAD into this Data Loader’s convenient spreadsheet templates. You can easily create new or modify existing Supplier Invoice records in the Data Loader and upload them to QAD EE quickly and easily.

REVISED! Journal Entry Data Loader for QAD EE

We’ve added support for cross-company journal entries to our Journal Entry Data Loader for QAD EE. If your company has multiple entities, you can now easily create balanced cross-company transactions using the spreadsheet templates in this revised tool. With this update, Journal Entry for QAD EE supports most of the functionality of the QAD EE Journal Entry process. (SAF codes, intercompany transactions, reverse transactions, cross-company transactions).

NEW! Shipping Integration with QAD

32 Soft’s Shipping Integration solution gives you an error-free way to execute and store FedEx and UPS shipping transactions directly in QAD! You can perform all shipping transactions in your QAD system through custom shipping screens, which have a real-time connection to the FedEx and UPS shipping sites. You can get accurate costs and shipping methods, schedule a shipment, and check shipment status all from the custom screens. Once the shipment is completed, the final costs and tracking information are transmitted and saved into QAD, eliminating the chances of error in manually updating this information. What a time saver!

Weigh Scale Web Solution

This complicated project gives our client a web-based system that ties a 25-year-old weight scale software program to their modern-day QAD ERP system. This company has been weighing tens of thousands of produced parts using this old FoxPro-based software to create backflush transactions. The system was no longer under a technical support agreement and lacked a tight integration with QAD, causing weight transaction discrepancies. The company could no longer use the information to make accuracy-based decisions. It was impacting their productivity and preventing them from reaching their goals.

Since the old system was a standalone application, the staff performed double entries in QAD and the weight system, making the process vulnerable to errors, confusion, and inconsistencies. The old system could not query and use QAD information when needed.

At 32 Soft, we created a successful solution for them. We fully integrated a new weigh system with QAD, eliminating data integrity and inaccuracy issues. The new system has functionality similar to the old one but acts as an add-on application to QAD ERP. The new system uses a single QAD license to cache the ERP data required to perform part counts and upload the Backflush transaction to QAD’s 18.22.13 menu.

The new application is web-based, meaning ANY computer with a web browser hooked to the weigh scale can be used to perform this transaction at each casting or press machine.

Contact us if a complicated project prevents you from meeting your goals!
